Ein paar Worte zum Sinn der "Radio-Hour":

Die Inspiration kam tatsächlich von Radio-Features, die es früher bei den öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunksendern gab. Dort wurden dann einzelne Bands oder Genres eine ganze Stunde lang präsentiert. Das waren oft Offenbarungen. In der Folge haben dann Leute wir ich Musikkassetten (so hieß das damals) aufgenommen, später dann CDs gebrannt, auf denen ebenfalls gebündelt Musik einzelner Stilrichtungen gesammelt wurde. Diese wurden an interessierte Leute verliehen oder verschenkt, die sich inspirieren lassen wollten. So bin ich Mitte der 70er auf den Jazzrock aufmerksam gemacht worden und habe selbst einige Leute an den ECM-Jazz, die Berliner Schule oder andere Stilrichtungen herangeführt. Zuletzt habe ich einen jungen Mann mit altem Soul bedient, der den dann als DJ auf ABI-Feten eingesetzt hat. Viele der jungen Leute wissen jetzt wieder welch großartiger Musiker Marvin Gaye war. Einige haben einen so großen Spass am Soul entwickelt, dass sie gezielt für Michael Kiwanuka oder Curtis Harding das Haldern Pop Festival besucht haben.
Ich habe meine klammheimliche Freude daran.
Die Radio-Hour in diesem Forum hat die oben genannte Funktion. Wer mag kann sich in Bereichen, die bisher nicht geläufig waren einhören und vielleicht etwas mitnehmen. So gehen vielleicht auch ältere "Kulturgüter" nicht verloren.
