(german) crowds are dead
Hoi:)
This topic has been around for a long time but I want to talk about IT
When you are at concerts do you like the audience or dont you like it?
I often go to concerts (Rock Metal Punk Gothic Medieval) and I think at the concerts that i visited that most parts of the audience are boring. Concerts i visited mainly took place in Germany.
Especially more people record the concerts instead of moving. I have to watch the concerts through the phones of other people.
What is your opinion and which concerts did you attend and where?
Hi Janek (with the cute guitar). First of all, what about introducing yourself in the section „Mitglieder stellen sich persönlich vor“? I thought you were German but we can talk in English as well. They sang along with me at the Rage gig in Burglengenfeld. They poured beer on my Nicoletta Rosellini shirt at the Metal United Festival in Regensburg. They nudged me hopping through the crowd at the Kamelot gig in Munich. The mobiles are there but they don’t bother me. What’s wrong about catching the moment of a great show? The mobile habit is not only a German phenomena. Ok, we are not talking about South American crowds. ;-)
Hello Djanek,
I think I know what you mean. The behaviour of the audience changed a lot since the early 90ies. I remember Devon Graves asking the people to put down their cell phones because a concert „is a personal thing“ and I totally agree with him. Why don’t they just enjoy the moment instead of letting it pass by for filming everything to show it around afterwards?
It is especially a nuisance for the less tall ladies of rock like our charming Briggs when the taller guys standing in front of them raise their smartphones and make it impossible for them to see what’s happening on stage.
For several reasons I did not visit many concerts recently, last one was Rosalie Cunningham in Franzis, Wetzlar. That was a quite fantastic thing: only few people there (I guess about 30), most of them seemingly not knowing the artist before. So they were first waiting what would happen and after two or three songs rushed to the front of the stage and started dancing.
That's the way, uh-huh, uh-huh
I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh!
Hello Janek, your post reminded me of the fact, that we used to have an english-speaking-section in our former Rock-Forum. Would be nice, to revive that here from time to time.
The fact that so many people are recording (full) concerts is quite annoying, I agree.
I wouldn't mind, if it was only allowed to record small clips of maybe 30 seconds.
But who should control that? I just found a YouTube-Video about this topic:
This concert situation is CRAZY 🤬 …but both bands & fans have to change!

Not sure, if his solutions would really work... what do you think?

When I talk about a moment I mean a moment in time, a second. Taking some pics to remember. Shooting the whole gig is ridiculous and disrespectful.
Yes and it liez tuse däß offse dschörman Krauts!
And at "BurnYourEars"-Webzine people are upset about some of the "Falling in Reverse"-concerts being cancelled without being forwarned. But that's another topic, I guess...
